Daniel M'Kinnen, British lawyer and writer. His Tour through the British West Indies (London: J. White) was published in 1804. To William Godwin, philosopher and novelist : 1 autograph letter signed : 19 Dec 1803 : (S'ANA 0229) : from Binfield Villa near Bracknell Berks : regarding the copy of Godwin's portrait of Mary Wollstonecraft, commissioned by Aaron Burr; begins, "I take the liberty of addressing a few words to you in answer to your letter ye 12th Inst addressed to Mr. Keenan which has transmitted to me. I have to return you thanks on behalf of ye Vice President of the United States of America ..." Published with commentary as SC 55 in Shelley and his Circle, v. 1, p. 325f. The portrait copy discussed is now on permanent display in the Edna Barnes Salomon Room on the third floor of the Library's Stephen A. Schwarzman Building.
